But this one was a little different, as the domestic violence is mostly implied, filtered through the perspective of Fichtner's Mike, the troubled couple's kindly older next-door neighbor, unfulfilled in his career and in his relationships with a tepid wife ( played by the lovely Jean Louisa Kelly, the obnoxious but believable teenage daughter from "Uncle Buck," but now all grown up and sophisticated ) and an indifferent college-age son.
The Neighbour... is just about absorbing enough to hold your attention until its powerful but bleak finale.
With that said, The Neighbor isn’t exactly about that.
