I like Kristy Nicolle's unique way of laying out the story, and I enjoyed all the characters; even though they did get on my nerves on occasion! I read the first one, fell in love, and was intrigued to read this one from a different POV. It's my favorite way to scare myself, because it's always something that could happen. Darcy Rhone has a rough life. I purchased this having watched the film version of it's prequel "Something borrowed" and wanting to know what happened to the characters next.
At first, I found it difficult to read a book from the point of view of a very unsympathetic character. At her first pre-natal visit what most disturbs her is her inability to judge whether her new female obstetrician is hotter than she is. The theme of the prequel that you should just do what you want regardless of the horrendous ways that they behave towards each other because each of them deserves it still doesn't sit that easy with me but it's a fun enough read. Then, all of a sudden, after one unpleasant conversation, she decides to do a complete life makeover. The first edition of the novel was published in 2004, and was written by Emily Giffin.
